We, the family-run business Inter-Pietre Sparber GmbH, based in South Tyrol (Italy), have over 65 years of experience in the natural stone, artificial stone and ceramics sector. Our day-to-day work includes steps, floor slabs, window sills and much more. However, our main focus nowadays is on kitchens: in recent years, we have built a strong reputation for natural stone kitchen countertops.

Advantages of kitchen countertops made from natural stone

Cut resistant

Especially hard rock like granite, quartzite and gneis are extremely cut resistant. While wood or other artificial material shows signs of use after a short while, the countertop made from natural stone still looks like it did on the first day, years later. The effort of being careful while cutting is redundant.

Heat resistant

Cooking can often get quite heated. With the right natural stone worktop and a surface-level integrated hob, the process remains stress-free: hot pots and pans can be slid straight from the hob onto the worksurface. No need for heat pads – and no need to worry about heat damage.

Low maintenance

In everyday life, cleaning needs to be fast and uncomplicated. Due to the high density and closed surface structure, dirt does not enter deeply into the material. Especially polished hard rock is easily kept clean with one simple swipe.

Yes. We manufacture bespoke worktops from natural stone. For several years now, the production of modern kitchen worktops has been our core business. We specialise in intricate craftsmanship and high-quality materials, and every day we craft unique kitchen counter tops for our customers. As well as natural stone, we also work with ceramic and artificial stone to create bespoke counter tops for your kitchen.

In principle, various types of natural stone are suitable. Generally speaking, hard rocks such as granite, quartzite and porphyry are better suited to countertops than soft rocks such as marble and sandstone. Suitability depends, amongst other things, on the properties of the specific stone, the surface finish and the intended use. Therefore, your decision should not be based solely on colour or appearance. We’d be happy to advise you on which material might be best suited to your kitchen’s requirements.

Nero Assoluto is very commonly used in kitchens and is ideal for this purpose. The material is hard, scratch-resistant, heat- and acid-resistant, and easy to maintain. As with any natural stone, however, the specific finish, surface and intended use should be taken into account. Care and waterproofing recommendations may also vary depending on the finish. For a specific assessment of your chosen Nero Assoluto, we recommend that you discuss the planned surface and application with us.

The correct cleaning method depends on the type of stone and the surface. For many natural stones, a mild cleaner suitable for the material is sufficient for daily cleaning. Harsh, highly acidic or unsuitable cleaning products should not be used without first testing them. For daily use, we recommend our StoneCareKit.
